Who: Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) Branch Consumer Reference Committee, NSW Ministry of Health
The AOD Branch of the Centre for Population Health at the NSW Ministry of Health is establishing a Consumer Reference Committee. The role of the committee is to create a strong consumer voice which will guide policy development and enhance safety, quality and innovation in NSW AOD services funded by NSW Health.
Application for membership of the AOD Consumer Reference Committee is now open.
The Consumer Reference Committee will complement other consumer engagement strategies which exist within the branch and specifically:
- oversee the development and implementation of a Consumer Engagement Strategy for the AOD sector, including providing direction and advice on strategies and actions to enhance consumer participation in policy development
- contribute to the development of AOD Branch and sector priorities
- provide a consumer perspective on new and emerging initiatives
- provide consumer insights into the effectiveness of service delivery.
The AOD Consumer Reference Committee will include up to 10 health consumer representatives.
