Current Projects
"Our Health, Our Communities" is led by the Consumers Health Forum of Australia (CHF) with funding from the Federal government. The purpose of the project is to support consumer and community engagement practices in the roll out of health reform across Australia.
CHF has been running workshops with CEO's, Chairs and Community, Consumer Board members from Local Health Districts and Medicare Locals to provide leadership training and support for implementing consumer engagement. Another exciting aspect of this project will be the launch of a website for health consumers (designed by health consumers) which will provide useful information about accessing health services as well as training modules for those health consumers interested in representation. Consumer RepresentationHCNSW has a key role in ensuring effective consumer representation at the highest level in shaping health policy and services. We are developing a network of representatives, who can provide mutual support, share issues and ideas, and to facilitate discussion forums when required and appropriate.
